Vision and Values

Our Mission

To help people become mature followers of Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:28)

Our Strategy for Life Transformation

Loving God

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind   Luke 10:27 (NIV)   To love God is to daily pursue an ever growing, vibrant and personal relationship with Him.  Knowing and fearing God keeps us with a heart’s desire to love Him.

To Love God is to:

   • Renew our heartfelt acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior,
   • Connect with Him through prayer and the active study of His Word,
   • Cultivate a heart of obedience to His commandments and conviction when we fall short,
   • Come in repentance and a contrite spirit to our ever loving God,
   • Treasure the peace of God’s forgiveness and His presence in our lives,
   • Recognize that by His grace alone are we saved and not by works,
   • Offer God our first fruits as a privilege to honor and worship Him,
   • Take every opportunity the local church offers for instruction, community, and growth,
   • Nurture an attitude of service in all things.  And I said “Here am I. Send me!”  Isaiah 6:8 (NIV)

Loving People

If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right. James 2:8 (NIV)   As we love God, in turn Christ’s love overflows and permeates our relationships with others.

To Love People is to:

   • Have a tender heart for others, accepting them just as they are; loving them as God loves them,
   • Tell others about the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ,
   • Establish and maintain relationships with open, honest, and caring communication,
   • Nurture, support, and minister to the needs of others in the name of Jesus,
   • Apply biblical values to preserve appropriate boundaries,
   • Be a Good Samaritan; let your example shine before others.
   • Therefore encourage one another and build each other up   1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV)

Living Surrendered

Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”  Luke 9:23 (NIV)   As we love God and other people, our priorities fall into place. This enables us to consciously seek God’s will for our lives and to yield to His direction with a joyful heart.

To Live Surrendered is to:
   • Know our need for a Savior and so we seek to please Him – it is not about ourselves, rather it is about God.
   • Take up our cross daily; recognize our own frailty and troubles, and put our trust in Him,
   • Lean on Him in prayer – not in our own understanding; we take our troubles to Him first,
   • Actively seek out His direction through reading the Word and through Godly counsel,
   • Use our spiritual gifts to further the Kingdom; we are servants of Him as we seek to bring glory to the Lord,
   • Commit to learning how to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others without compromise,
   • Testify of what He has done for us and how He can transform all who come to Him.  And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory are being transformed into his likeness. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV)

Our Values

These values will inspire our actions and keep us on course:
   • We embrace biblical authority. Scripture is inspired by God and it’s our full and final authority on all matters of faith and practice.
(Psalm 119:11, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

   • We embrace prayer. We are a church that prays, believing that prayer is the power source behind everything that happens in our ministry.
(Ephesians 6:18, 2 Chronicles 7:14-15, Matthew 6:5-13)

   • We embrace grace. Our salvation is received by the grace of God and not by our self-effort, and that shapes our acceptance and interaction with others.
(Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 5:8)

   • We embrace authenticity. Because none of us are perfect, we acknowledge both our strengths and our weaknesses as we pursue holiness and unity as a church. Truth-telling and biblical conflict resolution are essential to relational authenticity.
(Romans 3:23, Ephesians 4:25-32, John 17:23, Matthew 18:15-20)

   • We embrace excellence. Through forethought and intentionality, we pursue excellence in our desire to honor God and inspire people.
(1 Corinthians 10:31, Colossians 3:17, Malachi 1:6-14, Proverbs 27:17)

   • We embrace people. People matter to God, so they matter to us. Our words and actions will demonstrate our love for God by loving others, including those outside the faith.
(Luke 5:30-32, Luke 15, Matthew 18:14)

   • We embrace a Kingdom-mindset. We partner with other churches and organizations and creatively embrace new methods to reach more people for Christ.
(John 17:23, 1 Corinthians 9:19-23, Romans 10:14-15, Mark 4:10-12)
